On Tuesday July 16 all students and staff partook in the NAIDOC week celebrations. We were fortunate enough to have Skye Stewart give us a welcome to the country address before the kick-offs began. On this very windy, cold day we had to compromise and use a normal football, rather than the traditional football made from possum skin (marngrook) that the aboriginals used to use as it was far too windy and would have been blown off the course. Two students from each class attempted their best footy kick into a shuttle, each participant had two shots. The bystanders were kept on their toes with some attempts hitting the side of the shuttle then bouncing off. We were lucky enough to have some amazing commentators, Mr Leo and Miss G. Despite the shocking weather conditions Lucas McInerney was the only one who managed to get the footy in the shuttle and walked away with a block of chocolate.
