On Wednesday November 13, Tanya from the Swan Hill Police Station visited the Grade 5 and 6 students to talk about cyber safety and the different ways to keep yourself safe online. Students learnt about being aware of what they share online and to keep personal information off the internet. Tanya reminded students to regularly check their privacy settings and how they can block users in online games who don’t play nice. Tanya highlighted the consequences of creating and sharing content online, as well as the techniques scammers can use to acquire personal information from users. She reinforced the role of Police and how they can help when dealing with cyber bullying, as well as the trusted adults they can confide in if something is happening to them online.
