Poppies

In Flanders Fields, the poppies grow,
Swaying back and forth, even in the snow.
It was so long ago, and now
They lie united, row on row.
We will remember them, we know,
A red poppy, a caring symbol of what we owe.
Lest we forget.

A Day at Gallipoli

The sun breaks over the horizon
As we wake,
Heads aching at the thought of another day,
Prepared to partake in the day ahead.
Gun shots break the silence
Quaking the soil below.
Soon another day is over
As the Last Post echoes throughout the trenches.
